About the Album
Within, my third album, is the result of five years of song-writing, soul-searching, and determination. My first two albums, Hansel Vs. Gretel and Mytopia, were more experimentations in bedroom recording as a budding teenage guitar player. Within is a more introspective and compositionally-intentional album with a focus on reflecting the many stages of life I journeyed while making it. There's a story behind every song and a "mood" to every moment.
If you're a fan of instrumental guitar music, you'll probably enjoy it moreso than most people. However, there's enough on the album to keep the interest of those with less-specific tastes. With a 40-minute album length, it's short enough to sit and listen through entirely and long enough to get an adequate musical experience. Three of the twelve tracks are instrumental and many tracks feature the talents of my musician friends.
What I'd Say
What I have to say about the album is that it was a struggle to get through. It seemed to be the project that would never end, but the final product is here and I'm more than thrilled about it. I'm proud of the song-writing and many of the performances. It has been a fun project to work on, especially since it's served as a stepping stone for me to discover new styles of music to compose.
Please, have a listen and let me know what you think. If you order the album [see the PayPal link at the bottom of this page] and have any special requests, I will do my best to meet them. Thanks for checking it out!
