Image Gallery: Camping at Kaibab
On the weekend of August 27, I went camping with Sarah's uncle Dave. We drove from Tempe all the way to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. After about 8 hours, we found a campsite... right on the canyon itself. It was incredible. The whole weekend was a lot of fun and we saw a lot of wonderful wildlife. We actually counted.... 25 deer, probably 4-6 grouse, a porcupine, wild turkeys, and even a forest fire! We were among the first people to discover the fire, so we had to drive back down to the general store and call the park ranger to report the fire. Below are pictures we took.
Some of the things you'll see are the Navajo Bridge, Lee's Ferry, (obviously) the Grand Canyon, and Kaibab National Forest. I feel like I saw more of Arizona that weekend than I've ever seen in my life. It made me realize why my parents love this state so much and all of the geologically-rich national parks in the Southwest.
