Timeline of events for Thursday, May 3, 2007:
- 3:40 P.M.
- Sarah calls me at work to tell me that her water broke.
- 4:30 P.M.
- Sarah and I arrive at the hospital
- 4:50 P.M.
- We're admitted to the "triage" room
- 5:15 P.M.
- Sarah starts getting contractions
- 6:30 P.M.
- Sarah starts getting mega-contractions
- 9:30 P.M.
- The nurse tells us that Sarah's just about ready to start pushing
- 10:30 P.M.
- Sarah starts pushing!
- 10:52 P.M.
- Gabriel is born!
As you can see in one of the photos, he weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces. He was born about 2 weeks early as he was due on May 17. We didn't name him until about 24 hours after he was born! He's perfectly healthy and so is Sarah. She did a really great job and I couldn't believe how quickly the time passed by. It's been unbelievable since.

Congratulations! You are in for such a blessed ride. Seeing these pics brought back memories of when Sydney was born. I know it's trite; I know it's been said a thousand times, but absorb every second to the best of your ability. The two years we've had Syd in our lives has been a whirlwind and we appreciate her more everyday. Gabriel looks like a handsome gent. I love the pic of you two watching TV. Well, you watching TV, Gabriel simply getting used to life on the outside. If there is any assistance we can offer, don't hesitate to ask: advice, prayer, whether Gabriel should be a finger-picker or use a plectrum, traditional or match grip; whatever, you just pick up the phone.

What a precious gift God gives us by giving us children!! Seeing the pictures brings a sweet tear to my eye of my own boys now 13 and 11. Cherish each and every moment for the time will fly. lovely photo, lovely family and my advice to you: hold him, hold him and hold him some more because the time really does go by FAST!!!! I am glad for the moments Emily laid in my arms and let me play with her bottom lip while she slept.
By the way, anytime you need a sitter call Emily and me and we will come and smell his sweet baby smell and stare in awe at his little tiny toes and fingers!
