Me and Bob Ricciotti playing air guitar [hard] in front of his guitar cake at his wedding
My name is Anthony Garone. As of this writing [sometime in October 2006], I'm 24 years old.
For a profession, I develop web sites and custom database applications. It's strenuous work and quite difficult. I never wanted to become a programmer, but I make more money programming than I could if I peddled any of my other talents.
I was born in Smithtown, New York. I moved to Arizona when I was 12. I met the girl of my dreams in 6th grade and ended up marrying her in July 2004. We recently bought a house together and will be adding a new member to our family in May 2007.
Guitar became an unhealthy obsession in 1996 or so. Soon after, I met Steve Vai and ended up working for him for seven months in 2002. I released two albums, Hansel Vs. Gretel and Mytopia in 1998 and 1999, respectively. In 2003, I worked at Applied Minds, a think-tank started by Dr. Danny Hillis. After feeling not-smart as a summer intern there, I left L.A., finished my Computer Science degree, got married, and ended up working a few different jobs. In April 2006, I started working for ASU as a "Systems Analyst Senior." My boss has yet to tell me what that job title means.
I just finished my third album, Within and it is now available for your grubby little hands. It's quite good, too.
Web design became an unhealthy obsession in 1998 and I haven't stopped since. Though I was more experimental with my designs back then, I've since learned a lot about web standards. My life on the web has drastically changed since I started my own personal site all those years ago.
Christianity became a healthy obsession on the first Sunday of 2003 when I attended Word of Grace and "responded to the altar call." My life hasn't been the same since.

About This Site
Who doesn't have a picture of themselves like this?
This site is completely hand-crafted using the finest ingredients in the worst possible way:
- XHTML 1.1 (delivered as application/xhtml+xml)
- CSS 2 (with some hacking)
- PHP 5 (object-oriented stuff... w00t!!!)
- Javascript
- MySQL 4
For more information, read more about this incredibly boring stuff.
Currently, this website garners around 150 unique visitors per day, though that number has been climbing. I don't know why that many people would be interested in my content, but it makes me happy.
Because I am almost never happy with the infrastructure/appearance of this site, it changes every 2 months or so. Some find it annoying, I find it fun.
